Bryn Mawr Film Institute Hosts Silver Screen Gala: Casino Royale

Bryn Mawr Film Institute Hosts Silver Screen Gala: Casino Royale with Special Guest Sir Ben Kingsley on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Bryn Mawr College

He has the patience of Gandhi, the ferocity of a Sexy Beast… and an Oscar. But can he beat you at Poker and 21? Try your luck with Sir Ben Kingsley and other friends of Bryn Mawr Film Institute at Bryn Mawr Film Institute’s 2008 Casino Royale Silver Screen Gala!

The non-profit theater’s annual benefit fundraiser will be a lavish black-tie affair held at Bryn Mawr College’s Thomas Great Hall on March 8 from 7 to 11 pm. Academy Award-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi, The House of Sand and Fog) will be the guest of honor and receive the Silver Screen Inspiration Award. All of the proceeds from the event benefit Bryn Mawr Film Institute.

Attendees at Bryn Mawr Film Institute’s four previous galas can attest to what a wonderful evening is in store. This year, there will be black jack, roulette, poker, and slot machines all evening, as well as live jazz piano, a delicious butlered dinner, and martinis and champagne galore. The romance and danger of gambling and casinos in film will be featured in a special multimedia presentation by Andrew J. Douglas, Ph.D., Bryn Mawr Film Institute’s Director of Education.
