Comedy Improv “Making your Comedic Self Available”

“Improvisational Comedy is a hot skill that is increasingly in high demand. For an actor to be able to show their lighter side and quick wit through improv is a key strength applicable to MANY auditions. Audiences want to be entertained today. It is a wise actor who realizes that much of what they are auditioning for contains humor and needs comedy improv.” – Kathy Wickline, Casting Director.

In this course teacher Bill McLaughlin uses various techniques to allow the student to express their comedic selves through character range, stage presence, listening and reaction, and creative agility. Using such techniques will help you think quickly, on your feet (this is not a stand up comedy course).

A former student of Chicago’s renowned Second City Bill McLaughlin will be your instructor for this course. He was a founding member of Chicago’s City Limits, Workshop Director for Manhattan Comedy School, and was Workshop Director of New York’s First Amendment Improv Company for seven years, during which time he taught none other than actor and comedian John Leguizamo.

Thursday nights, Starting May 29, 2008 – 6:30 – 8:30pm
4 week course: $225.00
