Philadelphia Independent Film Festival

Media Bureau would like to announce the launch of the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, which seeks to further enable the culture of independent filmmaking by sponsoring an annual event with screenings and discussion of locally and globally produced movies and movies-in-progress.

June 26 to June 29, 2008, marks the live and webcasted debut of the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, founded and hosted by Media Bureau. Located in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, this event is a collaboration to further enable the culture of independent filmmaking. Peers, admirers, critics, creators, audience members, and on-line lurkers of local and global independent films can present, discuss, and experience the scope of independent moviemaker experiences and possibilities.

Established in 1997, Media Bureau is an 11,000+sq. ft. multi-media production studio, screening room, café and gallery that will host the first festival from June 26-29, 2008. Media Bureau has and is currently producing film, video, and audio projects including the upcoming Historical Science-Fiction series Order of the Quest and other original productions.

Media Bureau has previously worked in a variety of capacities with the likes of Schoolly D, Uz Jsme Doma, Transonic, Maceo Parker, Karl Denson, Arrested Development, Rich Medina, King Britt, Groove Collective, Dead Kennedys, JazzyFatNastees, Stephanie Renee, Charlie Hunter, Eminem, DJ Logic, Chuck Treece, Three 4 Tens, Audible, Gildon Works, DieselBoy, Optical, KoldFront, GreyBoy Allstars, New Deal, Galactic, Gilles Peterson, DJ Spooky, George Clinton, Sarah White and the Pearls, Fallout Boy, Mo Rocca, John Stewart, and many others.

Movies submitted for review have the option to be scheduled for a public screening and be uploaded to the upcoming Media Bureau website – http://www.indiefilmarchive.com.
