ITVS Community Cinema Presents a Philadelphia Premiere
THURSDAY, MAY 1st at 7:30PM
NEW YEAR BABY @ The Black Lily Film and Music Festival
International House, 3701 Chestnut St. Q&A w/ Director Socheata Poeuv,
Followed by Reception. FREE Event, Open to the Public.
What would you do if everything you knew about your life was turned upside down? If your sisters weren’t really your sisters and your mother was married to someone else before your father? Born in a Thai refugee camp on Cambodian New Year, filmmaker Socheata Poeuv grew up in the United States never knowing that her family had survived the Khmer Rouge genocide. In NEW YEAR BABY, she embarks on a journey to Cambodia in search of the truth and why her family’s history had been buried in secrecy for so long.
No Advance Reservations. All seats are first come, first served at the door (I-House has a large theater, with seating for 400). If you have questions, please contact or call 267-259-2049.
This special event is co-presented by ITVS, Black Lily Film and Music Festival and the Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia
