About the PIFVA SUBSIDY
The purpose of PIFVA Cash & InKind Subsidy Program is two fold: To assist Philadelphia-area independent media makers in completing work and to build community through sharing of skills and resources. Cash grants and inkind grants of donated services are awarded to filmmakers for specific post-production services not yet performed prior to the grant deadline. Grants are paid directly to the providing company or to the individual performing services, for which applicants are encouraged to negotiate a discounted rate. Grant awards average between $500-$750, maximum grant is $1000. You must be a current PIFVA member to apply.
GENERAL PROCESS
Cash grants are awarded for specific post-production services not performed prior to the grant deadline. Grants are paid directly to the providing company or individual performing services, for which applicants are encouraged to negotiate a discounted rate. Maximum is $1000 and averages $500-$750. The subsidy round does not make grants for research, development, writing, production or distribution.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
-be PIFVA members. applications may include a PIFVA membership form and payment
-be based in the Philadelphia/Delaware Valleyarea
-maintain editorial control of the work
-retain copyright of work (collaborating makers may apply together)
Project must be:
-an independent production
-intended for public exhibition and distribution
Ineligible:
-sponsored or promotional work (excluding project samples and trailers)
-organizations
-members of PIFVA staff and board who will be copyright holders of the work
