Amazing Race

A reality television game show in which multiple teams comprised of two members, sharing some form of a personal relationship or bond, compete amongst themselves in a race which takes them throughout the expanse of the globe. The premise of the show revolves around each team endeavoring to arrive first at a specified "pit stop" in order to win specific prizes as well as avoid the possibility of elimination. Contestants travel around the world utilizing any mode of transportation possible until only a few teams remain; who then vie for $1 million in prize money. The show was created by Elise Doganieri and Bertram Van Munster and has been the recipient of numerous Primetime Emmy Awards, resulting in several international spin-offs.
