Filmmaker Spotlight Filmmaker Adrian Sierkowsk Adrian’s cinematography style is often described as “naturalistic.” When asked about his choices in synthesizing images Adrian says, “it is the job of the cinematographer to build a bridge from the script to the screen,” noting that, “it is the director’s vision and the actor’s scene with the editor’s speed; my place is to build up a believable world of light and camera motions which neither overpowers nor undercuts their intentions.” Adrian’s film work has brought him across the globe on projects, from Senegal West Africa, filming a documentary with Temple film student Tarik Mahdi, to Shanghai where he will partner with area artist Meghan Pursell documenting a performance art piece. Despite the move towards feature film production, Adrian states, “I still really love working on the smaller short and student films. It gives me a chance to experiment and problem solve when your intentions often outgrow your tools.” Adrian has continued to work with Seniors in Temple University’s film department, recently shooting the senior projects for two Temple students—Sara Krupnick’s Puncture and Hockey Mom for Adam Scheiner.
