Filmmaker Spotlight Filmmaker Dan MagroFrom a very young age Dan Magro knew what he wanted to do...direct films. Since then he's focused lots of time pursuing this and many other areas of the entertainment industry, especially in Philadelphia. Born and raised in neighboring Bucks County, Dan graduated from Bucks County Community College, and is now finishing his education at The College of Media and Communication at the University of the Arts in Center City. Dan's company DJM Multimedia has created many short films including the award winning Brotherhood and the popular cable TV show Student Update, which Comcast picked up in the fall of 2005, currently in it's fourth season. Dan's first feature film endeavor The Year Past premiered this past fall to a packed-house of 300+ people and rave reviews. His journeys through the Philadelphia film community have lead him to land some interesting roles in local productions both on stage and screen. He has started production on his next feature Portraits of Sari due out Fall of 2007 and in development of a new television series, Paper Cuts. Dan also is the head publisher of the online magazine "Reel Philadelphia" a quarterly online source for the up-and-coming filmmaker, Philly, and culture. http://www.djmmultimedia.com |
