AWOL is playing at the FirstGlance Film Festival on Tuesday, October 2nd at 7:45 PM at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street. AWOL is set in1972 and is the story of an American soldier (David Morse) who is captured and tortured in Vietnam. At the height of agony, suddenly he's home living an idyllic life with a wife and children he doesn't recall ever having known. But the torture of war is not over…escaping will take wits, and require a gun. David Morse won the Best Acting award at the Hermosa Shorts Film Festival in Hermosa Beach, CA for his role in AWOL. David Morse began his acting career in the theatre as a player for the Boston Repertory Company in the early 1970s. His big break came in 1982 when he was cast in the television medical drama St. Elsewhere in which he played Dr. Jack "Boomer" Morrison. Morse also starred as Mike Olshansky, an ex-Philadelphia police officer turned cab driver, in the television series Hack, shot in Philadelphia, which ran from 2002 to 2004.
