Within its boundaries are more than 100 statues, 8 restored mansions, the classic Tudor structures of Boat House Row, the Fairmount Waterworks, a Horticulture Center, the Japanese House and more, some of which are detailed below.

Penn’s Landing

Penn’s Landing is a 60 acre waterfront district operated by the Penn’s Landing Corporation. The district is approximately 2 miles or 20 blocks long running along Columbus Blvd. from Spring Garden Street to Washington Avenue.  Encompassing the site where William Penn first landed in 1682, it consists of a multi-stage Great Plaza (Amphitheater) with a seating capacity of 15,000, the International Sculpture Garden, the Venturi designed monument (obelisk) dedicated to Christopher Columbus, an assemblage of historic ships, and an 11 acre marina.

Port of Philadelphia

With its approximately one dozen maritime facilities, which regularly handle cargoes such as containers, steel, fruit, frozen meat, paper rolls, special heavy-lift projects, and passengers, the Port of Philadelphia is a major economic generator for Philadelphia and the surrounding region. The Port features both newly-built waterfront facilities and well-maintained piers built in the early years of this century. These latter piers feature some extraordinary facades and architecture. There are also a few old, out-of-service piers that may be of interest to filmmakers looking for an especially gritty location. All Port of Philadelphia facilities are located on the Delaware River along an approximately three-mile stretch within the City of Philadelphia limits.

Public Schools

The Film Office works with the School District of Philadelphia and other school districts to arrange for the use of elementary, middle and high schools in the Philadelphia area. All inquiries should be directed to the Film Office.
