Hopes and Fears- Will screen at the Bryn Mawr Film Insitute on June 2nd FREE

Hopes and Fears, was a joint endeavor of Greater Philadelphia Filmmakers, a program of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, and Great Expectations, the year-long project on civic engagement run by the Philadelphia Inquirer, along with the Lenfest Foundation and the Fels Institute at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prizes included a $5,000 Grand Prize, a $2,500 Second Prize and three $1,000 Awards of Distinction for the best short films. Great Expectations is designed to engage citizens in discussion about Philadelphia’s future and as a result, develop an action agenda for the next mayor.  A series of citizen and leadership forums and debates will be held throughout the year, involving citizens’ commentary about the city, its problems and its potential.

All genres:  documentary, fiction, non-fiction, animation, etc. are acceptable.
