Liar's Pendulum, playing at the FirstGlance Film Festival on Opening Night, Friday, September 28th at 8:00 PM at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street. David Winning is scheduled to appear at this screening.
Liar's Pendulum is a psychological thriller set in the fictitious city of Johanna during the next Great Depression. The main character, Alaric Almalquilar, a.k.a. Johnny Joe Blue, (David Winning), is an ex-cop-turned-private investigator/ bounty hunter who is on the run from just about everyone. He is about to get his hands on top-secret, stolen research technology, which he needs to get to a benevolent order of scientists before it gets into the wrong hands.
Emissaries from various branches of the federal government and the military industrial complex (competing against each other more than working together) attempt to intercept and/or eliminate Alaric and re-acquire the top-secret information before he can expose it to the public. As his pursuers close in, we learn that there is a lot more to Alaric and his story than meets the eye.
Philadelphia actor, David Winning, plays the lead in
Liar's Pendulum. David has appeared in several short films, including
Redskins Revenge and
Paper Girl. Past summer, he played the lead in the musical
The Full Monty at the Barksdale Theatre in Richmond, VA. David can be seen in several national and regional commercials for Kyocera, Haier Appliance and Friendship Sour Cream. He is currently preparing for the lead role in another independent film being shot this spring in NYC.
Liar's Pendulum is Andrew Flores' first feature film. He is currently working on three feature length screenplays and his short,
Cinderdrift, was an official selection of the 2003 Pocono Mountains Film Festival.
