Michelle Pollino

Michelle Pollino is an Emmy-nominated producer, director, writer and editor with nearly 15 years in the industry. After more than a decade in radio and television as a writer and reporter, Michelle's natural storytelling abilities took her into television and film production. Starting out at Philadelphia's local PBS affiliate WHYY with a series of shorts and then onto WYBE Public Television to produce the award winning television series, Philly Live. Michelle's next stop included producing reality television for the nationally acclaimed Banyan Productions. In 2004 Michelle stepped into the film world as the Assistant Production Coordinator for the feature film Champions, and has since added her talents as co-producer and 1st AD on the film, 2 Minutes Later, 1st AD on the Horror Film Tooth and Nail, UPM for Bottleworld, 2nd AD on Buddy Gilbert Comes Alive, and is the 1st AD for the upcoming feature, Nicetown. Michelle wrote, produced and directed the short film Inner Wang, about a karaoke drag king, which was shown in festivals around world. She is also producing the documentary Control Group, about human guinea pigs. In 2006, Michelle's interest in the environment was peaked and she began to turn towards eco-friendly filmmaking, she partnered with writer/producer Nikki Jackson and editor Doreen Mosher and formed the company Chicken and Stars Productions. The company has since produced several corporate videos, music videos and is currently in pre-production with their first feature film, Birding 101. Michelle also started consulting on green filmmaking and has helped the Philadelphia film office with their go green campaign for 2007/2008! She also does freelance editing work for several companies in the area. Michelle lives in Mt. Airy, just outside Philadelphia, with her two Jack Russell's Lucy and Ulysses.
