The 4th Dimension

The 4th Dimension marks the feature film debut for Philadelphia natives and Temple graduates writer/directors Dave Mazzoni and Tom Mattera, and producer Daniel M. Kalai. The 4th Dimension (Psychological Drama) is a meditative examination into the mind of an introverted genius who obsesses to solve the complexity of time. It explores the dark and lonely world between dreams and reality. The 4th Dimension was shot in and around Philadelphia. The locations consisted of voids that exist amongst everyday society. Among these locations were the abandoned Wycombe Train Station, Holmesburg Prison, and the infamous Philadelphia State Hospital, also known as, 'Byberry' Mental Institution. The 4th Dimension is the only film ever granted permission to shoot at Byberry. The 4th Dimension had a special screening at this year's Philadelphia International Film Festival. It played to three sold out shows, selling the most tickets of any film in the festival. Following Philadelphia, The 4th Dimension went on to World Premiere at this year's CineVegas International Film Festival in Las Vegas as part of the Jackpot Premieres section. It was one of 29 films selected to compete in the festival which is run by Sundance Senior Programmer, Trevor Groth. After selling out two screenings, The 4th Dimension went on to win The Grand Jury Honorable Mention Award. The 4th Dimension also just made its International Premiere at the prestigious World Film Festival in Montreal. It was one of 24 films from around the world to compete in the First Films World Competition Category. The 4th Dimension will have its Western Canadian premiere later this month at the Calgary International Film Festival as part of the American Independent Series.
