The Dream Alliance
The Dream Alliance is an innovative visual arts program, founded by local Philadelphia filmmaker Christopher Ambolino, that is designed to showcase the creative talents of underserved populations and individuals living with varying degrees of ability and functionality from spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders, the visually and hearing impaired, people living with illness, and the elderly to name a few. Look beyond what you may perceive as a disability, inadequacy or simply something different, and you will see more than just an artist, you will discover the person. Each is an artesian craving the same things any creative entity does; acknowledgement, appreciation, and respect. The Dream Alliance is devoted to empowering the individual.
Thru the course of the program, participants will continually find themselves challenged in a very supportive environment. They will learn about filmmaking, visual art development, creative writing, and video production. Participants are involved in EVERY aspect of production from conception to completion. They are the architects of each project. It is their voice. It is their expression. It is their creation.
The Dream Alliance is not just a social enrichment or creative arts program, but a palette for one’s life to explore. Within the societal labyrinth, lay a diversity of perceptions regarding the handy – capable, the impaired, the elderly, and the mentally and physically challenged. It is our initiative, although not one that is broadcasted, to shed the cloak of ignorance and allow people to really see the person, and not just their level of ability. There is a new artist among us and it’s time to take notice.
