Philadelphia Museum of Art

The Philadelphia Museum of Art, at 26th and Benjamin Franklin Parkway, is one of America’s largest art museums with more than 300,000 paintings, drawings, prints, decorative arts, period rooms (a medieval cloister, a Japanese teahouse, a Chinese temple, an Indian temple, a French Empire room, and others), Oriental Art, and a collection of arms and armor. The Museum consists of three interconnected temple structures with tall porticos. It is reached from the Parkway by a monumental flight of stairs flanked by cascading fountains. The stairs lead to a terrace which offers a spectacular view of the city.

Exterior Filming
Filming the exterior of the Museum must be coordinated with the Fairmount Park Commission (see that section) and with the Museum.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art also administers the Rodin Museum and grounds, and the Fleisher Art Memorial, and two historic homes in Fairmount Park Mount Pleasant and Cedar Grove.

Interior Filming
The Museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and until 8:45 on Wednesday and Friday. Any filming during these hours must be authorized by the museum administration. Filming during non business hours may be arranged subject to conservation guidelines and Museum corporation approval. Permission for filming is rarely granted in the museum’s galleries, so we recommend contacting the Film Office to coordinate all requests.

Fees
The production company will be responsible for the cost of personnel required to accompany the crew, including guards, conservation staff and electricians, as well as a location fee and in some cases a reproduction fee. Please call the Marketing & PR department at 215 684 7861
