The Art Institute of Philadelphia
Video Production Program

The Video Production program provides intensive training for individuals who want to enter and grow in this fast paced creative industry. Students in the Video Production program develop the competence to use the video camera as a technical and imaginative tool. Pre production, lighting and computer applications such as Adobe, Photo shop and Premier augment the basic skills foundation. Students then progress to advanced skills in Multi Camera Production, Post Production Techniques, Non Linear Editing and the creation of a video from idea to final edited composition.

We are a broad based curriculum with hands on training by professionals. Over 400 students and 25 faculty comprise La Salle University’s Communication Department. The undergraduates enroll in a broad based core program followed by tracks in: Mass Communication, Human Communication, Journalism, Advertising Public Relations, and Film Studies. The Scribe Video Center

Scribe Video Center is a non profit media arts organization, which provides educational workshops in film, video, audio and time based media production to beginning, emerging and mid level media makers. Workshops offered include: scriptwriting, documentary planning, camera and lighting, sound, non linear editing, fundraising. On a limited basis, Scribe provides access to small format video production equipment, as well as non linear editing equipment. Other programs at Scribe include the Community Visions Project, a production workshop that provides training and equipment access to members of community organizations; the Documentary History Project for Youth, an after school and summer program for middle and high school students; Street Movies!, a free outdoor neighborhood screening series; and Precious Places, a city wide community history project.
